Discordia was the theme of Thursday night and was centered around the Roman goddess of chaos and strife. This season's designer collections feature strong juxtaposed themes of creation and destruction, order and chaos, nature and civilization.

We are in the final stages of prep for our August 2020 season…dropping the backstage curtain, focusing lights, building an extended runway…and executing our plans to keep everyone in the venue safe & healthy. Read on to find out what you can do to make the most of your OFW experience as an in-person ticket holder or a live stream viewer.
It’s been said a lot this summer…this is an OFW unlike any other. Literally everything has changed…even how we deliver our magazine. With so many of our fans watching from home through our Live Stream, we wanted to make sure they had access to the same great publication our in-person attendees will receive.
We are entering the “mask as an accessory rather than a necessity” phase of the pandemic. They are going to be with us for a long time. We might as well have some fun with it. This brings up interesting questions about how far we should go in coordinating masks with our outfits.
With cases on the rise in the 18-34 age group, mitigating the spread of Covid in the fast-paced environment backstage is a top priority. About 50% of our models, Beauty Alliance members, designers and volunteers fall into this age range. We have had several phone calls with the Douglas County Health Department, walking through our plans for backstage, to ensure we are doing everything we can to maintain a safe and healthy environment. Here is what we are planning:
OFW Producer Brook Hudson talks with MetroTV’s Andee Hoig about planning Omaha Fashion Week while dealing with the challenges of Covid-19. “I believe people are fundamentally designed to be together, and it's up to us as event planners to figure out new and interesting ways to do that safely,” said Hudson.
Omaha Fashion Week organizers have announced the designers who will go on to compete in the Saturday August 29 VIP Finale. These designers will compete for prize packages totaling $10,000 in value on that evening, in addition to $2,000 in cash prizes on Thursday, Aug. 27 and Friday, Aug. 29.
Omaha Fashion Week organizers gathered yesterday at the Omaha Design Center for the first time since February to put the finishing touches on the August 27-29 event. Designers met with selection panel members, models, photographers, hair stylists and production team members.

What a great week we had with Alyssa Dilts of Develop Model Management as we partnered to produce Omaha Fashion Camp this week! We worked with little kids ages 6-10 in the morning and teens in the afternoon. The goal of camp is to show kids some things about a variety of careers in the fashion industry. In addition to learning basic hand & machine sewing, the kids learned about sketching, modeling, photography and even got to catch up with Camp alumna and LA stylist, Molly O’Brien on Zoom.
OFW is partnering with Booth Central to deliver a Virtual Pop Up Shop during Omaha Fashion Week, August 27-29. The Virtual Pop Up Shop will give our guests at both our live and digital events, a chance to interact with all of our favorite retailers online from 6-8 p.m. each night before runway shows begin. Even better, the Virtual Pop Up is open for free to the public - you don’t have to have an OFW ticket to participate!
The Front Row is our passion series offering an up-close look at the creators and cultivators that are reshaping Omaha’s community.
