We’ve gone from a sense of desperation early in the pandemic over finding a mask when there was a shortage…creating them out of whatever we had available (bandanas…underwear….even bra masks!) to developing more discriminating taste in our masks as time has progressed. We are entering the “mask as an accessory rather than a necessity” phase of the pandemic. They are going to be with us for a long time. We might as well have some fun with it.

This brings up interesting questions about how far we should go in coordinating masks with our outfits. We are reading up on the latest research relating to the effectiveness of different mask designs and fibers…and weighing that against comfort and style. Do we want a set of basic masks that go with everything or a mask for every outfit? Do we need a certain type of mask for our workouts that will block the dreaded maskne and another type of mask for formal occasions? Are there even any formal occasions anymore? So. Many. Questions.

At OFW, we’ve been collecting snaps of our favorite masks from around the world and have a few recommendations for our favs being sold by OFW designers.

You are going to see many more options hitting the market at our OFW Virtual Pop Up Shop to be held during runway shows next week. For now, here are two favs that are being sold on our ticketing platform…be sure to think about how you will incorporate a mask into your red carpet look for OFW!

Vivi Design Studio Kids Mask

  • An outer layer of COOLEVER® fabric, which is breathable, quick-absorbing, and drying.

  • Two inner layers of jersey cotton for additional filtration, plus a pocket to add your own disposable filter.

  • Soft elastic ear bands for a better fit, and easy on/off.

  • Machine washable and fun animal designs. The type of printing we used isn't thick, helps keep the fabric breathable but also maintains great color.

  • Kids Mask is available in four designs: Cheetah, Dog, Polar Bear, and Striped. See Event Gallery for photo examples.
