Thursday night will be our second showcase of Ready-to-Wear collections. We are excited to bring a marvelous group of designers to show their hard work! As we head into the last few days of Omaha Fashion Week, you can expect to see these designers on August 20th:
Alyssa Koory
Alyssa is from Omaha and creates garments based on vintage styles that incorporate a timeless elegance. This collection is no exception. Alyssa’s current designs are inspired by the 60’s. She previously participated in Omaha Fashion Week March 2015 and this will be her second time. Previously she has won best in show at her school’s fashion show her junior year of high school and first her senior year.
Molly O’Brien
Molly is another designer from Omaha. She says her collection “was inspired by the city of London drawing inspiration form the geometrical lines of the architecture mixed with soft details inspired by the London Gardens with a young at leisure vibe.” Molly has sewn since the age of 8 and began exploring the fashion industry her freshman year of high school. She has also shown collections in both Omaha Fashion Week and Kansas City Fashion Week.
Wallflower- Erica Cardenas & Bryan Frost
Wallflower is a brand and vintage boutique right here in Omaha designed by Erica Cardenas and Bryan Frost. Their inspiration comes from “flora.ology,” or the study of a Wallflower. Their designs will consist of military vibes combined with laid back 1960’s camping attire. Erica and Bryan have been able to make handcrafted fashion at a local level by creating Wallflower. The brand has been featured in many local publications, some being the Encounter, Inspired Living, Omaha Fashion Magazine, and Wedding Essentials.
Nuevintage- Terri Buckner
Terri Buckner is the designer of Nuevintage. She will be showing a collection that was inspired by California and the Mojave Desert. Her brand was created in Montrose, California where she owned a small vintage clothing boutique. In the 70’s Terri first began taking interest in both fashion and designing when she attended Nancy Bounds. Several years later she began to further her career as a Visual Merchandiser.
Christopher Di Giorgio
Christopher is a Menswear designer who has been designing for 4 years. He will be showing a collection that is based around this concept of functional pieces that are also aesthetically pleasing. Christopher’s inspiration comes from vintage Tommy Hilfiger. “I find it interesting how the majority of his clothes serve a purpose and also are aesthetically pleasing.” In the future, Christopher hopes to be a successful designer having his own label.
