Friday night is our last night before the VIP Finale! After a fun-filled week we will be finishing up with an Evening Wear Showcase. The superb designers you will be seeing Friday Night include:
Amaryllis Designs- Andrea Hurtt
Andrea Hurtt is the designer of Amaryllis Designs, available at Atomic Bombshells. She brings a blast from the past with her fun, loud dresses. Her designs are based off of the late 1940’s through early 1960’s. Her aspirations are to continue making her clothing line and owning her store all while making women feel great about themselves. Her collection is titled “Tea Time in the Garden.” Every dress will be based off of a beautiful flower, showing off lots of chiffon and tulle.
Buf Reynolds
Buf is a local designer from Omaha. Her collection will be based off of the exploration of what is byond us. She began designing when she was 15, creating her own homecoming dresses. She mentions, “I wish so badly that OFW had been around when I was a teenager.” Buf has been heavily involved with Omaha Fashion Week and has made many accomplishments through the event!
Denise Ervin Designs- Denise Ervin
Denise Ervin gets her inspiration for this collection from East India. She has used authentic Indian fabrics, trims, and graphic designs to enhance the collection. Denise has been designing for over 30 years. She began as a costumer for the Omaha Community Playhouse where she worked her way up to Head Designer and stayed there for 20 years. She currently designs custom clothing and costumes for a variety of purposes.
alesha.beth- Alesha Johnson
Alesha began sewing her freshman year of high school, mainly altering clothes and creating her own pieces for dances. Her collection was designed based off of the inspiration of sea glass. Alesha will be attending UNL in the fall studying fashion design.
Leah Kareen- Leah Kettelson
Leah is another one of our designers coming from out of state. She will be traveling all the way from Colorado! Her collection is titled “Spring Soiree” and inspired by a garden party. Her gowns will be both formal and cocktail, featuring rich colors. Leah graduated with a degree in Apparel Design and Fashion Merchandising from Georgia Southern University. Later, she moved to New York working under Elise Overland and Michael Kors.
Alison Cloet
Alison is from Sutton, NE and will be showing an evening wear collection on Friday. She took inspiration from Monet’s paintings and Monet’s garden in Giverny, France. She began sewing at the age of 8 with 4-H. “At first I hated it because I despise patterns and directions. When I was 15, I started drafting my own patterns with the help of YouTube and blogs and I found the creative outlet that I adored.” Previously she has shown her designs at the Nebraska State Fair and Omaha Fashion Week.
Fella- Fella Vaughn
Fella will be showing a collection inspired by the movement of fire, water, and air. At the age of 15, Fella saw his first ebony fashion show which sparked his love for fashion. He worked at a costume shop in Omaha while attending the University of Nebraska Lincoln, which is how he learned the craftsmanship of designing. Fella has recently said, “It makes me proud to help make the world a more beautiful place to be in.”
