Miranda Hanson,17, is showing this season at Omaha Fashion Week for her second time.

Miranda’s collection is targeted towards young girls her age who are “sassy, confident and sophisticated,” she says.

Inspired by the edgy styles of 80s fashion, Miranda says her goal was to create a modern monochromatic daywear collection inspired by the 80s minus the typical neon and loud colors. The collection features a black and white color palette with denim and hints of cobalt blue and embroidery detail throughout.

The young designer began sewing back at the age of 8 and hasn’t stopped since. She says high school is where she became serious about embarking on design as a career. “I went to the [Omaha fashion Week] student night and I watched what everyone else my age could do, so I thought I could get into it and I ended up being a designer,” Miranda shares.

Following her attendance at Student Night, Miranda registered for Omaha Fashion Camp and was so successful she got to display her designs at the following season of Omaha Fashion Week during the Pretty In Patina Pre-Party.
