Despite plunging temps and drizzle, Designer Showcase I was another sold out show at OFW! Audience members were treated to a performance by 13 cast members from the Omaha Community Playhouse production of Rock of Ages, along with a few sets by Shauna B. and the Selficons, during the Pretty in Patina Pre-Party.
The show opened with a headliner presentation from Kids Rule, a children's wear collection designed by the OFW Team. The five remaining collections were by designers who were competing for a $500 cash prize provided by OFW Presenting sponsor, SAC Federal Credit Union. Andrew Hale Designs, an OFW Newbie, showed a haunting and eerie collection inspired by Marcel Marceau. Single Handedly Liz presented a collection of evening gowns that were made by Liz Scarpino, a designer who has use of only one of her hands. Sixteen-year-old Margaret Larson for Argeaux kicked off the second half with evening wear in rainbow shades. OFW Veteran Christopher DiGiorgio showed a more colorful collection than his previous work, that included floral prints and dip-dyed fabric. Modden Studios by Sarah Mader closed out the show with a line of evening wear and summer dresses inspired by her travels to Morocco.
Stay tuned to OFW social media for tonight's Borsheims Red Carpet Photos, Runway Photos by Heather & Jameson and BTS Photos from Kathy Rae.
