Omaha Fashion Week’s Fall 2022 season of fashion and glamour has come to a close with our Featured Designer Showcase. SPLENDERE: Brilliant Things, which speaks to the grand designs to be seen on the Omaha Fashion Week Runway. From evening wear to bridal, our more seasoned designers are stitching up an amazing showcase for you.
Guests arrived to the Omaha Design Center and started the night with photos by Alyssa Jean Photography on the Milan Laser Red Carpet, and enjoyed music from DJ Angie Spence while sipping Tito’s cocktails.
Guests were greeted by valet, posed on the Milan Laser Red Carpet, then grabbed a Tito’s Vodka signature cocktail, attendees found their premium seats along the Omaha Fashion Week Runway. Thanks to Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery | Dreams MedSpa, every guest was a VIP and received valet parking and complimentary hors d'oeuvres by Attitude on Food.
Saturday night’s showcase was headlined by the Nuevintage and Buf Reynolds, who respectfully opened and closed the show. The collection by Nuevintage showcased upcycled materials draped and collaged to create a fantasy of bohemian punk energy.
Jonah Gilmore of KETV hosted our show, and brought such vibrant life to the stage. Develop Models were runway ready and the show continued with a collection by Potions 23 exploring realms of dreams versus reality through flamboyant expressions of haunted dolls. Annette Sunshine Designs followed with elegant and dynamic resort wear inspired by the fabrics themselves. Next, Hannah Caroline Couture presented a collection of bridal gowns for the unconventional bride utilizing unexpected fabrics, colors, and modular designs. CASERAZ mimicked graffiti in her collection inspired by 90’s street art and pushed the boundaries with dark and bold designs. Vivi Design Studio closed out the first half of showcases with unpredictable children’s wear inspired by taboo topics and puritanical ideals to represent intuition, freedom, and self-expression.
During intermission, house music kept the energy up and attendees enjoyed looking through their Omaha FASHION Magazine.
Guests returned to their seats for the final round of collections of this MAGIS season. With an emotional start the the second half of shows, guests were shown a video about the war in Ukraine, we shared a moment of silence, and the music from the extremely talented electric cellist Elena Bosworth brought most to tears. We all stood in support for our brothers and sisters in Ukraine.
Potapenko + Yanchenko followed with a collection of garments inspired by the traditional folk wear seen on Ukrainian Motankan dolls as well as bridal gowns, with hope of a future of protection for the Ukrainian people and an end to the war. Regal Status presented a fresh take on streetwear by fusing 90’s hip hop era styles and luxury. Inspired by resilience against doubters and retaliation, Duanne Topping, showed a collection of womenswear pieces. Up next, a stunning collection of evening wear gowns by Roger Figueroa came down the runway with designs mimicking the beauty of Mexico’s nature. Finally, our last collection of the season was by the beloved Buf Reynolds, after a 5 year hiatus, guests were ecstatic to see her collection of creative chaos grace the Omaha Fashion Week runway again.
