Omaha Fashion Week’s Fall 20202 season of fashion and glamour started off with a BANG! We presented a brand new show format, fashion theater, created by Borris Powell. This is the first time Borris had debuted a collection outside of Chicago. We were so thrilled to host this showcase for all of our fashion friends in a brand new venue in the Omaha Event Group portfolio - The Leo Ballroom - with the Qu Ee n's Kourt!

Guests arrived to the Grand Opening event at the newly restored and historic Leo Ballroom. They we greeted by valet and had their moment to shine on our Milan Laser Red Carpet. Guests then grabbed a Tito’s signature cocktail, with an antique tea cup they could take home as a party favor. Attendees enjoyed more drinks and house music from DJ Herricane Cole before the show.

Borris began the show and everyone was in awe. He had an original music score performed by a live band, featuring models from Develop Model Management. Models wore pieces from Borris’s previous collections to open the show, then changed into the new collection throughout the performance. This represented a retrospective look back at where Borris has come from as a designer, and where he is going as an artist.

Brook and Nick Hudson, producers and owners of Omaha Fashion Week, took the stage to express gratitude for all of the guests and their commitment to supporting our community for arts and entertainment. It was so heart warming to see so many friends come together and share their appreciation and love for music, fashion, and theater.

Periodically, Borris spoke to the audience about his love for the arts: music, fashion, and performing. He told a deeply personal story of his life as a an artist, trying to be his authentic self, in spite of the state of his mental health.

As the show came to a close, guests gave a standing ovation, cheered, and adored Borris, the band, and the models for an incredible performance and experience. Members of the audience who wore Borris Powell pieces came to the stage to show the ultimate appreciation of an artist; buying and wearing their pieces. DJ Herricane Cole kept the energy live for guests to mingle post performance.

Qu Ee n’s Kourt started off Omaha Fashion Week offered us a majestic beginning, we can’t wait to see you throughout the week as we continue the vibrant energy.
