Record breaking crowds showed up to the Omaha Design Center Saturday February 25th for the final Designer Showcase of Omaha Fashion Week. Todd and Orenda Fink of Closeness played during the Pretty in Patina Pre-Party.
Ballet Nebraska kicked off the show with a presentation of Ella from their upcoming show Momentum opening April 1. Headlining designer, Michael Drummond, traveled from St. Louis to stun the crowd with custom-printed florals inspired by his mother’s garden and hand-glittered shoes. Jane Round presented innovative plays on classic silhouettes. F. Scott Fitzgerald inspired a romantic line by Madyssen Jean. Crystal Brakhage Designs was inspired by pop art featuring primary colors and mod silhouettes. Designer Makaylee Gayed created a beautiful line featuring quilted details. A jewel toned collection by Hannah Kristina Designs followed. Mitchell closed out the evening by making a statement on the failing infrastructure of the United States, “Together We Build, Together We Fall” in Chinese hieroglyphics on his signature look.
Sunday February 26 features two closing events:
· Shop the Runway Sunday where attendees can mix and mingle with designers and shop looks straight from the runway or place custom orders.
· Develop Model Management Beauty Show featuring four local styling teams who have had 48 hours to transform six models into their Oscar winning Best Picture look.
