We’ve been pretty quiet since last August, waiting to see what would happen with Covid-19 and vaccines as the time drew near for our spring season, scheduled for March 22-28. We’d be lying if we said Covid-19 hasn’t taken a toll on the OFW team - frankly, we are so tired of not being together - working on Zoom doesn’t quite hit the spot!
Despite the Covid-19 fatigue we are all feeling, we have made the difficult decision to eschew our traditional in-person runway shows this season. With Covid variants spreading and vaccination distribution a long way off from where we’d like it to be to safely hold large indoor events, we decided it wasn’t worth the risk to the health and safety of our talent and guests. This is the first time since 2009 that there hasn’t been a spring runway show and it breaks our hearts. But we know it’s the right thing to do.

We are transforming the week we had set aside for runway shows into a set of inspiring conversations with some of our favorite fashion experts from right here in Omaha and across the US. And we are thrilled to share that these conversations will be FREE to all who want to tune in and be part of it! Reservations are required and will open up on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021.
We are calling it “OFW Beyond the Runway” because the fashion industry is rich with opportunities to learn and grow, long before a garment hits the runway. We are making that our focus this season and will be asking our guests to share with us what it’s been like to be a creative in the midst of such a difficult year. How are they staying inspired? What has been the most challenging thing they’ve run up against? What advice do they have for those of us whose inspiration and creativity might be flagging after a year of isolation? What are they doing to protect their mental health?

We are going to miss seeing your beautiful faces on the runway and the red carpet this March… and most of all being able to give you a HUG! We plan to come back better than ever…with lots of HUGS…in August 2021.
