Omaha Fashion Week continued with another packed house last night as they partnered once again with UNL's Department of Textiles, Merchandising, and Fashion Design (TMFD) to produce their second annual UNL Student Showcase!

Over 30 designers showed 100+ original looks on the Allure Med Spa Runway to Beauty, and competed for four different scholarships thanks to the Mary Mitchell Fashion Excellence Fund, a generous endowment through the University of Nebraska Foundation!

Student designers at the university had been planning and preparing their intricately designed garments since the fall semester. Dedicating hours upon hours through late nights and early mornings in the TMFD sewing lab, students diligently created their pieces. Developing their own concepts from personal creative inspiration, students presented professional mini-collections and individual looks alike.

The Pretty in Patina Pre-Party featured DJ Angie Spence, who provided electronic beats as designers and models were preparing for the show backstage. Guests of all ages were treated to beautiful updos to complete their red carpet looks, thank to the Surface Styling Bar powered by Xenon Academy! VIP guests enjoyed complementary cocktails and hors d'oeuvres from Brandeis Catering in the Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery | Dreams MedSpa VIP Lounge, and even got to snag their own special VIP gift!

Waverle Monroe of KETV NewsWatch 7 energetically introduced the crowd to the first half of the UNL Student Showcase, kicking off with two scenes of dress. Daywear first stole the show, with garments designed specifically for everyday occasions. Semi-formal clothing then combined both elegant and modish with informal aspects of dress.

During the intermission, guests mingled about Omaha Design Center while designers and models were busy backstage preparing for the second half. The Omaha Fashion Week Red Carpet was buzzing with guests snapping photos of their stylish outfits, while other attendees treated themselves to some retail therapy in the Pop-Up Shop Market and sipped on delicious signature cocktails from the Absolut Elyx Bar!

All eyes were glued to the stage as the second half of the evening kicked off with Formal Wear! Elaborate, elegant designs flowed down the runway, fit for any dressy occasion. Experimental designs then wowed the crowd, showcasing riveting designs, both unique and awe-inspiring. Guests cheered, clapped, and smiled brightly as all of the designs hit the runway one last time to close out the evening.
