Omaha Fashion Week’s August 2021 GLITCHED season emerged last night with our finale PARAGON Designer Showcase! Meaning to be modeled after perfection with reckless abandon, the PARAGON Showcase allowed designers who were new to the industry to bring attention to their latest collections, full of intricate, detailed work.
Guests arrived at the Omaha Design Center and rushed to take photos by KateraMuriya Photography on the Omaha Fashion Week Red Carpet. Our Pre-Party kicked off with DJ crabrangucci, who kept the atmosphere upbeat as VIP guests made their way to the Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery | Dreams MedSpa VIP Lounge before the show and headed to the Omaha Fashion Week Pop-Up to shop the merchandise. After grabbing a local Cut Spike Distillery signature cocktail or a local Lucky Bucket Brewing beer, attendees found their premium seats along the Omaha Fashion Week Runway. Corporate boxes received complimentary bento boxes by West Main Catering.
With the resourcefulness of Aquage styling products and tools, the Omaha Fashion Week Beauty Alliance style models for the runway. Develop Models were runway-ready and the show began with a collection that creates a fashion vocabulary for an imaginary culture by Headliner Dan Richters, full of epic color and texture combinations. Erin Kelly's collection was visually manifested by flattering silhouettes and custom fabrication using sustainable, plant-based dyeing. Next, Carsen Monaco's collection was playfully combined with modern minimalism for a touch of escapism and romantic flair on the runway. HILDAGO’s collection blended home for elegance with texture and color maintains a unified vision of fashion beyond the pandemic. Samuel Macke's collection of glamorous styles in feminine silhouettes is specially crafted for the uptown girl with punchy colors. Inspired by the vintage New York creative scene, backyard parties, and Tippie Hedren, HMJstyle collection brings glamour and the unexpected to the runway.
During intermission, house music kept the energy up and attendees enjoyed looking through their Omaha FASHION Magazine. Attendees went to refill the cocktails and snapped a photo on the Red Carpet before returning beside the runway.
Lights dimmed and emcee David Earl of KETV NewsWatch 7 brought the crowd into the next segment of the show as he introduced Headliner RoninScar, with “They Have Awoken” collection which was a continuation of the ongoing narrative about The Zone, focusing on textured fabrics, layered silhouettes and the use of color. Next, Potapenko & Yanchenko’s bridal collection incorporated classic wedding styles with a European twist. Judy Bales Designs’ collection exuded energy and sophisticated disarray, this collection of wearable art exemplifies unhindered creativity and artistic experience down the runway. Then, Only By Faith took a modern twist on a deserted, Western town bringing eveningwear to the runway. Chessna von Abstrakt's emphasis on the structure and flow blend uniquely in a collection made from hand-dyed fabric on the runway. Nuevintage presented a hand-crafted collection inspired by bohemian themes and life on the prairie. The last collection of the night from Headliner, Borris Powell’s "To bE iN LoVe" collection celebrated 10 years of full-time artistry. Inspired by the message that love will lead the way, this collection evokes adoration as it shines down the runway.
With a week full of glitz & glamour at Omaha Fashion Week, we can’t wait until next season!
