Omaha Fashion Week continued its August season with last night’s EMPHASIS Emerging Designer Showcase. Defined as a way of combining elements to stress the differences between those elements, Wednesday evening did not disappoint on the runway. Designers intermingled varying aspects of texture, color, patterns, and shapes to accentuate their collections.

Omaha Design Center filled with people arriving early for the Pretty in Patina Pre-Party as DJ Valencia entertained from the runway. Guests treated themselves to some retail therapy in the Pop-Up Shop Market, and even a little sparkle at the Borsheims Sparkle & Shine Nail Bar with on-site manicures by Chill Body Day Spa nail artists. VIP attendees headed straight to the Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery | Dreams MedSpa VIP Lounge to enjoy cocktails from the Absolut Elyx VIP Bar and complimentary hors d’oeuvres from Brandeis and The Downtown Club Catering.

Lights dimmed on the Allure Med Spa Runway to Beauty as campers from Omaha Fashion Camp modeled their very own designed garments. H.Art Studios opened the evening with smooth textures and intricate designs, flowing like a stream of water onto the runway. SKM Fashion carried on the show with her collection for a girl on the go, which combined earthy floral designs with deconstructed denim. To follow, KLYNNE combined pattern and texture to accentuate feminine silhouettes, while Karissa Goosic closed the first half of the show by creating emphasis between symmetry and quintessential silhouettes.

Guests flocked to snap photos on the Borsheims Red Carpet during intermission, browsed luxury vehicles in the H&H Premier Vehicle Showcase, and shopped more Pop-Up Shop Market vendors.

Camila Orti of KETV Newswatch 7 led guests into the second half, as Alexa Amina drew inspiration from African culture in her collection full of vibrant prints and colors. Chiara Kaufman graced the runway next, bringing Moroccan design to life with intricate patterns and eye-catching red tones. Men’s wear fabrication interwove with feminine lace and style as Anisha Fashionista took to the runway, followed by Lauren Nicole whose arachnophobia inspired line evoked beauty and grace, even in the most unusual of places. Headliner Dan Richters closed out the evening with his collection developed from the concept of fairytales of the woodlands. His pieces turn heads as they evoked transformation and an unusual visual reality.
