Hello, fashion fans!

As we’ve been gearing up for another season of fashion in February, we have paid close attention to local and global news regarding the pandemic. We have taken extra precautions for our team, like meeting virtually, wearing masks in public, and making sure team members are vaxxed and boosted.

However, there are some events and preparations for the season that must be done in person over the two to three weeks leading up to shows starting. These multiple exposure points leading up to a big event involving thousands of people are problematic, especially given the contagiousness of the new variant.

Following the advice of local medical officials, we have decided to postpone this Spring’s MAGIS Showcases until August 2022. Fashion for the greater good just cannot come at the expense of the health of our community, participants, staff and volunteers.

As heartbreaking as this decision is, we believe it is the right one to make. Going on three years of pandemic life is tough. We’d be lying if we didn’t say it has taken a toll on us. Despite that, we are looking forward to producing some great virtual experiences for our fans during the week we were planning to be on the runway. Please stay tuned for more info on that in the coming weeks.

For those who have purchased tickets, we will be sending an email with options to either roll over tickets to our August season or receive a refund. That will be in your inbox shortly.

For our model-hopefuls who were planning to attend the upcoming casting, we have a unique opportunity to participate in a virtual casting on January 15th with our friends at Develop Model Management. During this virtual casting, models will be chosen for the Scouted Model Competition, where winners will be signed and given a take part in a free photoshoot, used to promote Omaha Fashion Week’s Fall 2022 Season.

Finally, a reminder that we plan to be back on the runway August 23-27, 2022. In the meantime, please take care of yourselves, be kind to each other and let’s all do our part to end this thing! See you soon, fashion fans!
