Borris Powell started his design career in Chicago in 1997. Bit by the fashion bug early on in childhood, the Alabama-born designer was initially inspired by observing his mother primping for a night out and getting dressed for Sunday morning church.
He combined these early inspirations with a penchant for a chic, high-end city aesthetic and a love of the garment shapes of Christian Dior to create the foundation of his designs. A mix of art and sartorial skill, Boris uses eye-catching textures and sophisticated colors to create feminine and romantic designs that make women feel beautiful.
In 2011, Borris won the Academy Awards Design Challenge and had his winning design featured prominently at the 2011 Oscars.With Red Carpet-worthy designs, Borris Powell garments are for the luxury-seeking individual who is not afraid to be at the center of attention.
