Omaha Fashion Week’s Spring 2023 season of fashion and nostalgia kicked off with the 10th anniversary of our beloved Methodist Cancer Survivor Showcase. We were thrilled to finally be hosting so many strong individuals on our runway after a 3 year hiatus.

Omaha Fashion Week celebrates 15 years of runway showcases during the De Ponte Spring 2023 season. De Ponte is Latin for "from the bridge" in honor of Omaha Fashion Week's start under the Jones Street bridge to glamorous celebrations at the Omaha Design Center, and everything in between. The atmosphere of the night reflected the streets of Omaha and rave culture in the 1990’s. Paintings by Dan Richters took over the space that were originally created for actual raves in the 90’s!

Guests arrived to the Omaha Design Center and rushed to take photos by Hapis Imagery on the Milan Laser Red Carpet, and enjoyed music from DJ Riche Niche. Live virtual graffiti art was a mesmerizing addition to the pre-show entertainment, also by Dan Richters.

VIP Guests were greeted by valet, posed on the Milan Laser Red Carpet, then found their premium seats along the Omaha Fashion Week Runway. Thanks to Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery | Dreams MedSpa, every guest was a VIP and received valet parking and complimentary hors d'oeuvres

We celebrated the triumph over cancer as 100+ survivors took over the runway wearing looks from local boutiques! In partnership with Methodist Hospital, part of the proceeds benefit the Inner Beauty Salon at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center, which works with cancer survivors to deal with changes to their image while undergoing treatment.

Caitlin Harvey of KETV hosted our show, and brought such a positive flare to the stage. She was styled by the lovely, Buf Reynolds, with clothing from her personal vintage collection.

Survivors were dressed head to toe in beautiful collections from Coco and Charlie's, 308 Boutique, Kajoma's Fashion Boutique, J. Jill, Mainstream Boutique, White House Black Market, and Christian Nobel Furs. They strutted and danced down the runway with radiant energy.

During intermission, house music kept the energy up and attendees enjoyed looking through their Omaha FASHION Magazine.

Lights dimmed and guests awaited the next segment of collections from Chico's, Dillard's, Dusted Charm, Skyz Boutique, Hush la Boutique, Scheels, and finally Christian Nobel Furs to close out our show. The strength and beauty of these survivors was undeniable.

What a way to kick off our designer showcases! Let’s continue the week with more electric collections.
