Omaha Fashion Week’s Spring 2020 season continued last night with our Methodist Cancer Survivor Show! The most emotional showcase of the year kicked off as guests arrived at the Omaha Design Center to show support for the many cancer survivors that would be walking the Allure Med Spa Runway to Beauty. As OFW Pre-Party entertainment by DJ Sharkweek kept the atmosphere light, crowds flocked the Made in Omaha Pop-Up Shop Market to explore local vendors and amazing small businesses.

A few lucky guests snagged a spot to get their hair styled at the Capitol Style Bar Powered by Aquage before the show, and then headed to the Omaha Fashion Week Pop-Up to purchase Aquage hair product and shop the OFW merchandise. Attendees flooded to the Omaha Fashion Week Red Carpet to snag photos with family and friends before the show began.

Lights dimmed and emcee Michelle Bandur of KETV NewsWatch 7 encouraged attendees to show support for the survivors with their applause, and guests did not hold back. The emotionally-charged evening began with a collection from Dillard’s, where survivors strutted their stuff on the Allure Med Spa Runway to Beauty. Little Mango’s collection of children’s wear had the audience teary-eyed, as adorable little survivors endeared the audience. Mainstream Boutique’s collection of effortless looks gave the survivors model confidence. Soft Surroundings dressed models in beautiful daywear that made them shine brightly while they walked. Nine young survivors were feeling confident in their amazing looks by Altar’d State/Beautiful Soul as they captivated the audience. Bliss Boutique closed out the first half of the show with ten beautiful looks that made models feel their best.

Before intermission, cancer survivor Lindsay Stangl appeared onstage to share her story. She told the audience about her struggles with cancer and how the Inner Beauty Salon at Methodist Hospital helped her to feel her best with wigs, self-care, and many other services. Attendees were inspired by her story of overcoming such hardship and made their way to the Inner Beauty booth to donate to the cause. Beautiful scarves were given to donors, and many saved their scarves for cancer survivors they were there to support.

In the Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery | Dreams MedSpa VIP Lounge, VIP guests enjoyed Absolut Juice cocktails from the VIP Garden Bar and took Insta-worthy photos in front of the #GETJUICY wall. By the Dreams MedSpa giveaway table, hopeful guests entered to win $250 in spa services. Save the Date Catering’s delicious hors d’oeuvres were a treat for VIP guests.

The second half of the show began as Chicos styled fourteen beautiful women in outfits sure to make them feel their best. The positive energy was palpable as models charmed the audience in looks from Hush la Boutique, followed by more survivors feeling confident in front of the crowd in looks from K. Posh. In Christopher & Banks, ten women walked the Allure Med Spa Runway to Beauty in style, giving high fives and waves to the supportive crowd. Skyz Boutique sent several more survivors walking in adorable looks, and ten models wearing Maurice’s were applauded by the audience as they walked. The last collection of the night by Christian Nobel sent the remaining survivors down the runway wearing gorgeous statement coats, perfect for the winter weather.

As the second half of the show concluded, attendees gave a standing ovation to the 100+ cancer survivors who modeled and inspired during the Methodist Cancer Survivor Show. Guests excitedly chattered about the next few nights of Omaha Fashion Week as they left for the night!
