Omaha Fashion Week’s Fall 2019 season is a nod to nature and the many ways it influences fashion! Tuesday’s emerging designers showcased under the theme Terra, which is Latin for earth. The looks were warm and inviting, with focus on neutral earthy tones and sustainability.
Doors to Omaha Design Center opened to a crowd of attendees already snapping photos on the Omaha Fashion Week Red Carpet outside. Cocktails from the Absolut Elyx VIP Bar were in hand as guests mingled in the Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery | Dreams MedSpa VIP Lounge during the Pretty in Patina Pre-Party. Cell phones lit up with Dreams MedSpa’s special in-event text code as guests entered to win $500 in spa services!
There was still more to see, as guests made their way into the Pop-Up Shop Market! Pretty in Patina showcased designer goods, and attendees were pampered with updos at the Surface Styling Bar powered by Xenon Academy, complimentary to ticket holders thanks to Surface Hair Health Art! DJ Maren Saddler kept the atmosphere upbeat as guests were invited into the Absolut Elyx Pop-Up to sample their luxury vodka.
Models styled by the Omaha Fashion Week Beauty Alliance lined up backstage, ready to present breathtaking collections. The show began with Omaha FashionCampers strutting their stuff on the Allure Med Spa Runway to Beauty. These young budding designs showcased their original creations from this year’s OmahaFashion Camp!
House music brought the show to life as designer Malek R. presented the first collection of the night with luxury hand-stitched accessories. Earthy vibes transitioned to glitz and glamour as Karma LiLoLa brought a lavish and playful collection to the runway. A.N.N. Designs’ collection gave each of the four elements a powerful image derived from nature, and Little Jo Designs presented an astonishing line full of elegant and timeless looks.
During intermission, house music kept the vibe going and attendees mingled with vendors as they sipped their Absolut Elyx cocktails. VIP guests were treated to delicious food by Save the Date Catering. As the lights dimmed, Omaha FashionCampers proudly debuted even more looks on the runway.
Emcee Waverle Monroe of KETV NewsWatch 7 took the crowd into the second half and introduced RoninScar, whose moody collection took inspiration from the wilderness with mythical creatures and an eerie aesthetic. Indigomaha emphasized the importance of saving our planet with upcycled denim and hand-dyed fabrics, and Anna Naomi transported us to another time with a vintage-inspired collection full of vibrant colors. Lauren Glowacki Designs finished out the show with a 90’s inspired streetwear collection full of vivid colors and patterns!
With a promising start to Omaha Fashion Week, the rest of the week is sure to be packed with excitement!
