Omaha Fashion Week continued its August season of fashion and glamour with last night's BALANCE Emerging Designer Showcase. Defined as a way of combining elements to add a feeling of equilibrium or stability, designers brought balance to the runway with repetitive patterns and architectural silhouettes.

As designers and models prepared backstage, guests arrived to Omaha Design Center early to take full advantage of the Pretty in Patina Pre-Party. DJ Dojorok electrified the room with pre-party music while crowds shopped vendors in the Pop-Up Shop Market. Attendees snapped photos on the Borsheims Red Carpet, browsed luxury vehicles in the H&H Premier Vehicle Showcase, and treated themselves to on-site manicures at the Borsheims Sparkle & Shine Nail Bar. VIP guests enjoyed access to the Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery | Dreams MedSpa VIP Lounge, with delicious cocktails from the Absolut Elyx VIP Bar and complimentary canapes courtesy of Attitude on Food

With a focus on highlighting emerging talent, Tuesday showcased new or student designers working to build their portfolio, develop new concepts, and perfect their runway presentation.

Abigail Faith opened the evening with her women’s wear collection. Intricate details and timeless silhouettes bounced down the Allure Runway to Beauty. Orchid Eden Designs celebrated culture and music in her Afropunk inspired collection, while Kate Lavender transported the runway to another era with 1920s inspired loungewear. To close out the first half of the show, Aleah Creative incorporated bold prints and colors into feminine form.

James Wilcox of KETV NewWatch 7 continued to take guests through the second half, and Junebird captured the audience’s attention with her unconventional and up-cycled bridal wear collection. Futuristic trends of the 1960s space craze hit the runway in Anna Naomi’s line of women’s wear. Elyse Anastacia presented her fierce architectural collection that drew inspiration from the Chicago skyline, and Headliner  closed out the evening with his edgy street wear collection.
