REHEARSAL- you can enter through the front doors of the Design Center.
People will be gathering all over inside and we will call everyone into the ballroom for announcements when it is time to get started.
We will go over info for DMM Kids starting at 5pm.
When kids are practicing walking the runway, we will tour the backstage with parents and go over check in procedures and questions.
NIGHT OF SHOW- your model can enter through the front doors with you!
We need your model checked in backstage no earlier than 6pm, but no later than 7:30.
Check in with your model at the front ticketing desk.
Our team members will be there with a list of models approved to go backstage.
*Please note*- The same adult must drop off and pick up.
Adult must present a driver’s license or state ID (the ID must belong to the adult dropping off)
ID number will be recorded and attached to your child (band-aid on out of view on the back)
Your model will receive a wristband that security will be able to identify as them being a model.
Our team will escort your model backstage!
FYI-
Parents/guardians are NOT allowed backstage, unless there is an emergency.
We will have extra volunteers backstage specifically to help manage this fun group!
We will have lots of water and pizza on hand if anyone gets hungry but everyone should eat before they come. If there are any special snacks they want to bring, feel free!
DO NOT BRING VALUABLES BACKSTAGE! Tell your models to bring only what is necessary, we don’t want things getting lost or broken.
DO BRING chargers, snacks, a good book, a sketchbook in case your kiddo gets restless.
DMM Kids will walk in the first half of the show.
Arrive dressed in look with hair and makeup ready!
We will have hair and makeup teams on hand for touch ups or simple styles backstage.
After intermission, models will gather all their things and someone from our team will escort them out to a special ~ reserved box ~ to watch the second half of the show!
We encourage models to stay and watch the show, watching the other designers on the runway is inspiring and we love for them to see what can be accomplished at any age.
FAQ
MY KIDDO IS OLDER/SUPER RESPONSIBLE AND I’M NOT WORRIED ABOUT THEM NEEDING TO BE CHECKED IN/OUT, DO I STILL NEED TO?
Nope. If you trust them, so do we.
WILL PHOTOS BE MADE AVAILABLE OF MY CHILD ON THE RUNWAY?
Our wonderful house photographers, Heather and Jameson Hooton, try to get photos of every model that walks the OFW runway. They will be available for purchase from them at https://heatherandjameson.pixieset.com/omahafashionweekaug24/
MY KIDDO HAS FOOD ALLERGIES, WHAT FOOD WILL THERE BE?
We will have Little Caesar’s Pizzas (cheese, pepperoni, and sausage) and probably some fruit snacks for the kids.
CAN MY KIDDO GET CHANGED BACKSTAGE?
Absolutely! We have changing tents backstage and bathrooms as well.
WHERE DO I PARK?
We recommend the valet, but if that is not an option for you look directly behind the building, or look for street parking on 15th or 16th. Just be sure to NOT PARK BEHIND THE HOLIDAY INN! They tow if you are not staying there. Carpooling or taking a lyft/Uber are also great options!
