What to expect

  • When you arrive, you will check in at the desk at the front (the main entrance to the Design Center) and receive a wristband that allows you access backstage.

  • You will be directed to the backstage area.

  • You will check in with your team and shown where you’ll be stationed for the evening so you can get set up.

  • Designers and models will start arriving at 5:00pm so things will pick up quickly.

  • You will have a lookbook that includes model photos, their phone numbers so you can text them if necessary, the designer’s name and phone number and the desired hair and makeup looks,

  • You will work with multiple designer’s collections each night.

  • Designers may have anywhere between 6-15 looks in their collections.

  • Shows may have up to four headliners, but that is rare. They will open and close each half of the show, depending on how many we have in place.

  • Shows are split into two halves: the first half will showcase Emerging designers, the second half will show the Featured designers.

    • Emerging designers are usually students or they are newer to the runway.

    • Featured designers are generally more experienced and have a stronger idea of what happens at shows.

  • If you feel like you have finished with everyone that your team had been assigned, check in with the rest of your team and your mentors to be certain.

  • Many stylists bring a change of clothes along so when they are done styling, they can go out and be in the crowd and feel like they look their best!

The Omaha Fashion Week Beauty Alliance is led by our partners and friends at SOHO Hair Academy! Owner Somer Krueger, and her team will be organizing and orchestrating the OFWBA to ensure things go smoothly this season. We are so excited to have them on board! Hair care products are provided by Surface Hair Health Art.
