MODEL CALL FAQ

Who can attend? Anyone! We encourage diversity on our runway. However we do have a minimum height requirement for models (5'7" for females and 5'10" for males). We do not place any requirements on weight or body type but models should note the majority of our designers will be designing for straight sizes (0-4 ) or plus sizes. Our models typically range in age from 12-30 (female) and 15-30 (male).

We will be selecting a large number of women and up to 65 men!

What should I wear? Dress Fashion Forward! Men and women alike should wear something form fitting so designers can see your silhouette. Women are encouraged to wear heels at least 3in tall.  We will need to pin a number on your chest so please make sure any jacket, accessories or hair style will not obscure this number. If we can't see this number, you will not be eligible to model this season. We also suggest selecting jewelry that will not make loud noises as you walk. This is distracting to those trying to see your talent! At the bottom of this page, check out what folks have worn in the past!

What do I need to bring? Yourself! A positive attitude and a smart phone to complete registration. You do not need to bring any photos-we will take our own during the event. Men: it is helpful if you know your inseam measurement ahead of time.

What happens when I arrive? Arrive early. Join the line. In line you will receive your model number to be pinned to your shirt and a phone number to text for your official registration. When you text, you will receive a link for a form that must be completed accurately and in its entirety by 4pm that day! Aspiring models will get their measurements (waist, bust, hips, height) taken by volunteers, have a headshot and full body shot taken and walk the runway in front of our judges, designers, and video camera. You have just a short amount of time to shine on the runway so be sure to practice ahead of time! Then you'll hand your model number back to our volunteer and be on your way!

Who can see the photos and video taken of me at Model Call? After Model Call, photo and video us uploaded to a private website. The link to this site is shared only with current Omaha Fashion Week designers for the purpose of selecting their models.

When do I find out if I made the cut? Selected models will be notified in late June. If you were not selected, you will not receive any notification. Please do not email Omaha Fashion Week or Develop Model Management regarding your status. It is very important that you provide an accurate email address so you can be notified if you made it into the August 2017 Omaha Fashion Week!

What if I don't make it? Don't be discouraged! Stay tuned to Omaha Fashion Week social media and website for information on our next model call estimated to take place in January. Each season brings a new set of designers looking for a different aesthetic. Or if you still want to be involved, consider volunteering at our shows to learn more about Omaha Fashion Week!

I made it. What's next? Congrats! Pay attention to your email! This will be the primary method that both OFW and your specific designer gets in touch with you. Be responsive and block your calendar out for show dates now! If you have any questions or don't hear from your designer, contact madison@omahafashionweek.com.
