Long-time friends, Omaha Fashion Week producer, Brook Hudson and Alyssa Dilts of Develop Model Management got together to provide an answer to one of the most frequently ask questions in the OFW inbox: How can I get my kid involved in fashion?

As school budgets tighten, there are fewer and fewer opportunities for kids to learn about fashion in a traditional educational environment.  Home economics classes have gone by the wayside and kids who are interested in fashion or design don't always have an outlet to learn basic sewing skills or be encouraged in pursuing their creativity.  Omaha Fashion Camp introduces kids to a breadth of subjects within fashion, allowing them to explore what interests them and eliminate what doesn't.  From sewing and sketching to modeling, styling and photography, kids at Omaha Fashion Camp get to experience it all while learning from experts in a caring and inclusive environment.

Over the years we have introduced hundreds of kids to a world which often seems out of their reach here in the Midwest.  Many have gone on to be accepted into Omaha Fashion Week, have built amazing portfolios at OFW and used those portfolios and experiences to go to top fashion schools - from Parsons and FIT in New York to FIDM in LA.

We celebrate the top designs from fashion camp at Omaha Fashion Week each August - providing another unique opportunity for kids to experience the hustle and bustle backstage in a professionally run fashion show. This season, Omaha Fashion Campers will headline during one night of Omaha Fashion Week’s showcases.

We hope to meet your kids at camp this summer. Mark your calendars! Omaha Fashion Camp takes place July 12-16, 2021 at the Omaha Design Center on 1502 Cuming Street in Omaha, Nebraska.

  • Morning session is for ages 6-10 and runs from 9 AM to 12 PM each day.
