Omaha Fashion Week’s August 2021 GLITCHED season emerged last night with our JOVIAL Designer Showcase! Meaning to embody good-humored cheerfulness, the JOVIAL Showcase allowed designers who were new to the industry to bring attention to their latest collections, full of intricate, detailed work.

Guests arrived at the Omaha Design Center and rushed to take photos by KateraMuriya Photography on the Omaha Fashion Week Red Carpet. Our Pre-Party kicked off with DJ Cayleen, who kept the atmosphere upbeat as VIP guests made their way to the Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery | Dreams MedSpa VIP Lounge before the show and headed to the Omaha Fashion Week Pop-Up to shop the merchandise. After grabbing a local Cut Spike Distillery signature cocktail or a local Lucky Bucket Brewing beer, attendees found their premium seats along the Omaha Fashion Week Runway. Corporate boxes received complimentary bento boxes by Save the Date Catering.

With the resourcefulness of Aquage styling products and tools, the Omaha Fashion Week Beauty Alliance style models for the runway. Develop Models were runway-ready and the show began with a re-imagined collection by Omaha Fashion Campers, full of pops of color and playful accessories. Wild + Wonder Co. collection embraced timeless fashion for the modern child in elemental hues. Next, Lucid Luxe crafted a stretchable collection by layered intention with bold designs to the runway. Jiayu Li’s collection evoked a luxurious and magnificent atmosphere to historical and cultural references to the garments. Jenn.a.Robbins Creative House presented a flowing, vibrant resort wear collection full of dazzling patterns. För Världen’s sustainable collection of harmonious patchwork with values of nature and art left an impression of delight over the crowd. Lauren Bander closed out the first segment of the show with the movement of simplicity, an air of drama & of elements of healing adding a touch of ethereal couture to the runway.

During intermission, house music kept the energy up and attendees enjoyed looking through their Omaha FASHION Magazine. Attendees went to refill the cocktails and snapped a photo on the Red Carpet before returning beside the runway.

Lights dimmed and emcee Quanecia Fraser of KETV NewsWatch 7 brought the crowd into the next segment of the show as she introduced cicada camp company, which was entirely sustainably sourced materials, this bold collection inspired by mixed materials and techniques of artistry. Vivi Design Studio’s “Mystical Nature” collection was inspired by magical creatures to enliven this children's wear collection of elevated designs. MINA brought bold pieces that evoked liberation of oneself and a powerful fresh start down the runway. Makaylee Gayed’s dedicated her collection to endangered animals and the human behavior that caused their endangerment. Then, elle glo apparel showed an eveningwear collection inspired by Rococo and Neoclassicist movements. The last collection of the night from HART.’s “BREATHE” collection embraces the color palette of the Pacific Northwest in a medley of vintage textiles and up-cycled fabrics.

With a promising start to Omaha Fashion Week, the rest of the week is sure to be packed with excitement!
