Omaha Fashion Week’s Fall 2023 season of fashion and new beginnings closed out with a spectacular show of Emerging and Featured designers. This season's designers draw inspiration from alternate realities and cultural heritage while exploring themes of nostalgia and environmentalism.

Omaha Fashion Week celebrates 15 years of runway showcases during the AURORA Fall 2023 season. Auora is Latin for "dawn" in honor of Omaha Fashion Week now looking towards the future. The atmosphere of the night embraced the greenery of nature and organic structures, which served as a beautiful backdrop for guests to take photos.

Guests arrived at the Omaha Design Center and rushed to take photos by FotoFunSpot on the Milan Laser Red Carpet, and enjoyed music from DJ Angie Spence.

VIP Guests were greeted by valet, posed on the Milan Laser Red Carpet, then found their premium seats along the Omaha Fashion Week Runway. Thanks to Allure Health & Med Spa, every guest was a VIP and received valet parking and complimentary hors d'oeuvres.

Headliner Dan Richters, one of the original Omaha Fashion Week designers from our first show in 2008, opened the show. This season he showcased his newest technique of emulating beading, inspired by the 90’s runway shows that infatuated him as a young designer.

Quanecia Fraser of KETV hosted our show with grace and attitude. She was styled by the lovely, Maddie Graham aka The Frugal Fox, with clothing her sustainably sourced secondhand and vintage finds.

The runway show continued with collections from our Emerging Designers, starting with, Mauve Decade, bringing us to the digital world through a playful lens. Ana Orescanin followed with an ode to the early 2000’s. Next, Namaste NYC brought traditional, handmade Indian textiles to Omaha. Then, House of Haze turned taboo themes into cozy streetwear. Casandra Drouin gave us chic and timeless silhouettes with a Parisian flare. AJÉAD continued the show with modern workwear for the classic woman. Bleeding hearts and romantic gowns filled the Milan Laser Runway, by KTHOMPSON. Closing out the first half, Carl’s Bad Designs presented a joyful explosion of pink.

During intermission, house music kept the energy up and attendees enjoyed looking through their Omaha FASHION Magazine.

Lights dimmed and guests awaited the next segment of collections from our Featured Designers. RoninScar open the second half with an extension to his world, “The Zone”, this time filled with The Wanderers. Next Brandi Joan Robinson told the story of a woman consumed by nature. ALTERED STATE followed with a collection inspired by the image of women being used to sell the ideas of beauty. Layers and textures portraying membranes by Dominikat were so beautiful. Tivona Couture brought us to a glamorous Safari Mascarade ball with dramatic gowns, suits, and masks. Then Judy Bales stepped out of her comfort zone to show fitted dresses layered with her signature wearable art.

Finally, ISLA O closed our show with a stunning collection of formal gowns filled with intricate details, sparkle and craftsmanship that wowed everyone in the room.

And that’s a wrap on Omaha Fashion Week Fall 2023 AURORA Season left! Thank you to everyone who made this season so filled with life and bright energy.

Until February…
