Dan Richters

Dan Richters is an Omaha Fashion Week veteran who, for over a decade, has been creating collections of avant-garde dresses that are truly otherworldly. Drawing inspiration from folklore, mythology, fantasy worlds and the creatures and being that dwell there, Richters constructs apparel that appears both sophisticated and supernatural. Using molding techniques, leather, metal, hand drawn fabrics and wearable technology, he creates sculptural garments that are as fascinating as they are beautiful.

Borris Powell

Borris Powell’s design and life philosophy is living for the moment as he designs clothes for all people who live for today. “Incredible beauty exists in the world if you just pay attention, even when you're on the go… never lose sight of the excitement of every second of today.” Powell is constantly redefining his outlook on life with every new experience, perspective and person he encounters as he makes progress towards his FAshion vision. Using this beautiful planet as inspiration, he takes his worldly experiences and creates fabulous garments for men and women to feel glamourous in now and in every moment.

PAPER TEMPLES BY MICHAEL DRUMMOND & EMILY PARENTE

Diverging from the fast fashion industry standard of creating new collections twice a year, Drummond’s approach is to build off of a narrative which often takes years to develop. Partnering with local printers, manufacturers, artists, and designers, he crafts garments that are thoughtfully and ethically produced; creating a more useful and sustainable clothing brand that functions in the wardrobe timelessly.

For the Fall 2021 collection Michael Drummond has partnered with Emily Parente to create Paper Temples, an ethical and accountable apparel brand that merges art & design. Paper Temples was formed during the pandemic to create jobs for local seamstresses and knitters who are out of work. Drummond’s and Parente’s mission is to make one of a kind clothes for unique individuals, while being as renewable, conscientious, and chic as possible.

CICADA CAMP CO.

Mackenzie Greckel, winner of the Fall 2020 emerging designer showcase, attends the university of Kansas studying visual art with an emphasis in textiles. Her clothing line, Cicada Camp Co., has sustainably and ethically produced incredible garments by upcycling objects that can be found around anyone’s home such as clothes, blankets, towels and even wires and plastic bags. Using hand torn fringe, quilted patterns, bleach and painted designs, Makenzie creates clothes that are fun, beautiful and standout; but most importantly, Cicada Camp Co. is good to the planet because sustainability IS the future!

CRYSTAL BRAKHADE DESIGNS

Crystal Brakhage Designs, winning collection for the Featured Designer Golden Shears Award at our Fall 2019 showcase, creates professional and street clothes for people who want to stand out and take on the world. Using unconventional materials like chainmail, caution tape and curtains as well as applying techniques such as hand drawn motifs, stitch resist dyeing and screen printing, Brakhage designs clothes that are clean cut, edgy and marketable. Her use of elements like texture, movement and saturated colors in her garments lets the wearer be confident and approachable.

RONINSCAR

RoninScar’s collection won the Featured Designer Golden Shears Award during the Omaha Fashion Week Fall 2020 showcase and was produced by fashion student Alex Scarpello who attends the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Drawing inspiration from unique cultural garb and stylized psychological films such as Stalker and Shadow, Scarpello creates personal and emotional collections that explore deeper emotions and mental health. Applying techniques like layering, gathering, texturing and destressing, he designs stunning garments that are inventive, futuristic and ultramodern.
