Omaha Fashion Week’s third designer showcase took place last night. The night’s theme was “Fluidity.” A wide range of fabrications explored the fluidity of textures and gender. On the runway, we saw vegan leather, neoprene, and soft beachy fabrics. Looks were inspired by biker culture, women’s empowerment, and androgyny.

At the Pretty in Patina Pre-Party, guests were able to enjoy the Borsheims Red Carpet Experience, sip cocktails, and shop local vendors at the retail shop. In addition, we also featured some fun entertainment for the night with the community art project. Several blank canvases were placed throughout the Omaha Design Center. Guests were able to pick up a paintbrush and get creative by adding their own flare to the canvas.

On the runway, we watched Alejandra Buenrostro, Mitchell Henderson, Stella Bernadt, and Christopher Di Giorgio compete for the $500 cash prize provided by SAC Federal Credit Union. The winner will be announced on August 29th via social media. Headlining the show was designer Paulie Gibson.

Alejandra Buenrostro, Evening wear collection inspired by a culture who truly believes and lives freedom. The textures, patterns, and cuts were mixed to express the concept.

Mitchell Henderson, Ready to wear collection inspired by 90s industrial architecture and interior design elements. Progressive fabrics such as neoprene, cotton stretches, and spandex were used.

Stella Bernadt, Evening wear collection inspired by the evolution of women’s rights throughout history. Stella used a modern/trendy twist to bring this theme to life.
