Mitchell Henderson, 17 year-old high school student, will be debuting another collection on the Omaha Fashion Week runway this season.

He has been designing just a little over a year and has previously shown at OFW in March. “Omaha has a great platform to launch ones design career. With having a large group of volunteers working together and critiquing each other, it is easy and fun to grow as a designer. Being apart of such a large show comes with a lot of work; however, it makes me more professional. I hope that Omaha Fashion Week can help me launch a professional design career,” he tells us.

Recent politics and activist movements have inspired Mitchell’s current collection. “Using a pastel pink base color, there will be accents of grey and a blue spacer mesh. Screen-printed messages and art will be featured on each piece accented with gold chains,” he says.

In the future, Mitchell hopes to complete school at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan and then begin working in the fashion field. His ultimate goal is to be able to work in Hong Kong.

We are thrilled to have Mitchell back this season! The OFW team is excited for his collection to come down the runway on Wednesday, August 24th. Get your tickets here, see you there!
