Audio Helkuik, a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is returning to the Omaha Fashion Week runway this August.
Audio is joining us with a degree in Textile and Apparel Design, over ten years of experience as a theater/production costumer. They also have been running their own fashion design brand, Audio Helkuik since 2010.
Audio gave us the inside scoop on the collection they are bringing to the runway this season.
"This year I am designing an androgynous streetwear collection that consists of color-blocked spandex layered with a leather accessories collection. I'm really excited about this collection because I have spent the past few years perfecting my stretch sewing skills and teaching myself leather working. I designed a custom fabric print based on a photograph I took at Omaha's own Henry Doorly Zoo of an insane crustacean they have in their aquarium. The spandex fabric will have a little Omaha shoutout in repeat on it!"
